This is a Mechanical Engineer role, reporting to Production Supervisor in motion division located in Bangalore.

Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of order-specific production documentation of various families of AC and DC variable speed drives cabinets.
  • Participate in discussion with customer/consultant for approval of general arrangement/internal general arrangement drawings, and coordinate with production and vendors during fabrication and assembly of panels.
  • Maintain on-time generation of drawings and achieve first-pass yield above 95%.
  • Design of detailed drawings - fabrication drawings, busbar drawings, etc. – parts and assembly.
  • Contribute towards localization of product components.
  • Assessment of cooling airflow, temperature rise, cable & busbar routing, and related topics needing working knowledge from the electrical engineering domain.

Your background

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity and practice of all safety requirements including procedures, PPE, practices, hazard reporting, etc.
  • Proven experience in design & engineering of enclosures, busbars, insulating supports, etc. for variable speed drives panels/MCC/PCC, and knowledge of related IEC/IS standards.
  • Familiarity with the basic operation of drives, switchgear, protection relays, cooling fans, PLC, transformers, etc.
  • Expertise in CAD tools like AutoCAD/CREO/Solid Edge and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team working for working cross-functionally to achieve team goals.
