About Team

The RBS 4star VoC group in Chennai is an integral part of Amazon for the post-buying customer experience. The team’s primary role is to improve the post-buying experience. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.

As a Business Research Analyst with 4star VoC, you will work with product, technology, and operations teams to drive complex data and trend analyses to root cause issues and propose ways to reduce concessions, thereby contributing to improved customer experience on Amazon. You will also be responsible for identifying and driving new opportunities based on customer and business data and measuring the performance of the same.

Overview of the role

An ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about discovering and solving complicated problems, learning complex systems, working with numbers, and organizing and communicating data and reports. You will also be passionate about helping the team make great decisions based on data, possess exceptional skills in project management and data reporting, and be interested in the e-commerce industry. You will be detail-oriented and organized, capable of handling multiple projects at once, and capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities. You will have strong expertise in process optimizations and systems thinking and will be required to engage directly with multiple internal teams to drive business projects for the RBS team. Candidates must be successful both as individual contributors and in a team environment and must be obsessed with serving the customer. Our environment is fast-paced and requires someone flexible, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven work environment.

Responsibilities Include

Works across the team(s) and Ops organization at country, regional, and/or cross-regional level to drive improvements and enables to implement of solutions for customer, cost savings in process workflow, systems configuration, and performance metrics. Leads projects and opportunities across the Operations that are business-critical, and maybe global.

• Leads from medium to large complex, cross-functional strategic projects, and opportunities.
• Prioritizes projects and feature sets, evaluates and sets stakeholders' expectations for Amazon’s marketplace: country, regional, and/ or cross-regional level.
• Writes clear and detailed functional specifications based on business requirements as well as writes and reviews business cases.
• Applies a rigorous approach to problem-solving.
• Highly analytical skills needed to interpret large data sets.
• Performs root cause analysis by understanding the data need, getting data / pulling the data, and analyzing it to form the hypothesis and validate it using data.
• Find the scalable solution for the business problems by executing pilots and building Deterministic and ML models (plug and play on readymade ML models and using python skills).
• Structures and develops implementation plans and works with Ops leaders to pilot and test new solutions and then roll out them across the broader Ops organization at the country/cross-country and/or cross-regional level.
• Credible business partner to Amazon’s Operations network.
• Manages critical relations with external partners (e.g. vendors) and contractors from the initial phase of the project to its execution.
• Possesses relevant understanding and experience in operational processes and workflow. Able to dive deep into the operational process to correct underperforming parts and act as a troubleshooter.
• Provides technical/operational guidance to the teams, managers, and field personnel on their projects or part of the medium to large projects and processes.
• Is consulted regarding the operation model, and, for higher levels is considered as a formal owner of the Operation model.

Basic Qualification

• 1+ years of experience in financial/business analysis
• Experience with SQL or ETL
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
• Strong analytical skills – has the ability to ask the right questions, analyze data, draws a conclusion by making appropriate assumptions
• Operate in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment and take ownership of achieving business objectives.
• Organization skills – demonstrated ability to work independently to make complex investigations and Deal with Ambiguity
• communication skills – ability to communicate (written and spoken) in English.
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple plain stories
• Ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data, conduct root cause analysis using data, and provide recommendations for solutions and action plans based on deep-dive outcomes to eliminate defects.

• Ability to engage with cross-functional teams and gather project/program requirements

Technical

• Proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel (Array and Statistical formulas)
• Able to produce data. Understand SQL.
• Familiar with systems, and scripting – depending on the level of experience.
• Ability to use ML models to build scalable solutions
• Proficiency in Python
• Understanding of visualization tools such as Tableau
• Experience in managing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) jobs
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• Automate the report generation process through the use of tools and programming techniques: such as SQL, SAS, DW concepts & advanced Excel.
