Your role

EY’s Inventory and Section 263A service offering provides a unique approach to analyzing the complex tax issues associated with the U.S. federal income tax treatment of inventory and related costs. 

As part of the Inventory and Section 263A team, you'll collaborate with U.S. engagement teams, handling diverse clients, including major global corporations. Your responsibilities include preparing intricate tax calculations, reviewing client-provided data, analyzing information for accurate tax treatments, and communicating findings to U.S. teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reconciling amounts in documentation provided by clients and identifying inconsistencies
  • Reviewing financial accounting policies provided by clients to identify the treatment of certain costs for financial reporting purposes
  • Applying U.S. federal income tax rules to properly classify costs throughout the inventory product lifecycle in the preparation of complex tax calculations
  • Preparing documentation that supports the classifications of costs
  • Coordinating with U.S. engagement teams to resolve open questions

About you

Requirements for the role are:

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in accounting, tax, business, and/or law. 
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience in the field of accounting, tax, or business.
  • Relevant work experience with managerial/internal/cost accounting or inventory-specific accounting is a strong plus.
  • Excellent data analysis and manipulation skills (Microsoft Excel, Power Query, or Alteryx).
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
