Your role

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the largest commercial enterprise in India, as a measure of Skill Building Initiative for the Nation, proposes to engage Apprentices in Technical and Non-Technical trades at its locations under its 5 Regions viz Western Region Pipelines (WRPL), Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL), Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL), Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL), South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL).

Technician Apprentice:

  • Electrical
  • Telecommunication & Instrumentation

Trade Apprentice:

  • AssistantHuman Resource
  • Accountant
  • Data Entry Operator(Fresher Apprentices)
  • Domestic Data Entry Operator(Skill CertificateHolders)

Training, development & rotations

Duration of Apprenticeship Training:

  • Technician Apprentice(Elec/Mech/T&I) : One Year
  • Trade Apprentices (Assistant HR/Accountant): One Year
  • Data Entry Operator and Domestic Data Entry Operator: 15 months 

Note:

  • The candidates should NOT have undergone Apprenticeship earlier or pursued Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended from time to time
  • “Fresher apprentice” means a non-graduate apprentice, who has not undergone any institutional training or skill training, before taking up on-the-job training or practical training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. 

Salary & benefits

The rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 / Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and Corporation‟s guidelines.

  • The average IOCL Technician salary in India will range from INR 0.6  to 0.96 LPA. ( Source: Ambitionbox) depending on the cadre.
  • During the period of Apprenticeship, apart from the monthly stipend as prescribed above, no other monetary or non-monetary benefit/facility such as accommodation, HRA, conveyance, medical facility, etc. shall be admissible to apprentices.
  • Candidates have to make their own arrangements for accommodation, conveyance, medical, etc

About you

To apply for these positions you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Qualification requirement:

  • Technician Apprentice: (Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication & Instrumentation)
  • Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one-year duration/10+2) full-time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Automobile Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
    • Electronics & Communication Engineering
    • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
    • Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
  • Trade Apprentice (Assistant Human Resource)
    • Full-Time Bachelor's degree (Graduation) from a Govt. recognized institute/ University. 
  • Trade Apprentice (Accountant)
    • Full-Time Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in Commerce from a Govt. recognized institute/University 
  • Data Entry Operator(Fresher Apprentices)
    • Minimum 12th pass (but below graduate) 
  • Domestic Data EntryOperator(Skill Certificate Holders)
    • Minimum 12th pass (but below Graduate). Additionally, candidates should possess a Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator‟ for the training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under the National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Govt.

Age criteria:

  • Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as of 10.11.2022 which is the date for reckoning any eligibility criteria.

Requirement Before Filling On-Line Application Form:

Before applying for the above apprentice positions, candidates have to first register themselves in the online portals of the following agencies of Govt. of India:

  • For Technician Apprentices:  The concerned Regional Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) in their portal National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
  • For Trade Apprentices (Optional Trades): With National Skill Development Council (NSDC) at  https://apprenticeshipindia.org/

After successful registration with the above agencies, a registration number will be generated and the candidate has to mention this registration number while applying for apprentices positions in the Indian Oil Pipelines portal.

Selection process:

  • The selection process would consist of a written test.
  • The written Test shall be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs ‟s) consisting of 4 options
  • The duration of the Written Test shall be of 120 minutes i.e. two hours.
